  1. scurvy is a defeciency disease. Only a tiny amount of vit c is needed to prevent scurvy. The word "cure" makes it a bit of a loaded question but the answer is: yes.

  2. ascorbic acid is not vitamin c.it is a synthetic compound created in a lab.cheap junk that your body has a problem using. you need whole food real vitamin c.try camu camu, find it at http://herbspro.com

  3. the body needs minerals my friend, not acids, in this case its something wrong with mainly the blood right, so since the blood is made of Iron,  the patient needs Iron, the right form of Iron that the body will be able to assimilate and that can only come from a natural plant a plant that is not an hybrid or containing starch ( the Iron you usually find at the store is Iron oxide our body don't know what to do with that thats why it bines your stomach if you take too much). The burdock plant is one that has a lot of the form of Iron that the body needs and so is the sarsaparilla plant which has one of the highest consentration of Iron. And don't forget sea moss(aka Irish Moss) from the ocean not a lab, this sea veggie has 92 of the 102 minerals that makes up the human body so its a very good plant to consume each day( the Irish moss usually comes in a pounder form). Hope this helps you much.

  4. Ascorbic acid is the same wherever it comes from although I think it oxidises easily in air which might quickly render it useless if it's not contained in a fruit or something.

Interestingly it was called ascorbic acid because it prevents scurvy. A- [not] -scorbic [of scurvy].

  5. I think that Ascorbic acid is Ascorbic acid, whether from a natural source {like fruit} or synthesised as a supplement. A good supplement is by Biocare, called Magnesium Ascorbate powder.

A fruit that grows in the Amazon rainforest called Camu Camu, has more vitamin C than oranges. Some say that Camu Camu extract is in a more bioavailable form, and is absorbed more readily, compared to synthesised ascorbic acid.

I would imagine that ascorbic acid will cure scurvy, as long as it is from a pharmaceutical grade supplement, but it will be wise to also add Camu Camu to the treatment plan.

    Hope this helps.
