  1. I feed my turtle rosey red minnows so I know that they will eat fish if they are small enough. It depends on the size of the goldfish, if they are small enough for the turtle to eat then I would say no. The turtle may also take a bite out of the fish. Even if it is just for one day they may try to chase it and harm your fish.

  2. for 1 day it probably wouldnt be a big deal. but if might nip and your fish's fins, which can cause them not to be able to swim right which can cause them to die. So if you put the turtle in there and notice it chasing the fish,   i would take it out!

  3. it should be just fine my uncle has a red - ear slider and he puts goldfish in the turtles aquarium all the time.

the turtle might eat or bite one or two goldfish if he can catch them but other than that it should be all right.

    hope this helps!

  4. it will probably (even when young) try and bite or eat your gold fish so i wouldnt.

  5. Yes they will nip and bite till they make the fish ill and then eat it.

Sliders, Cooters , painted ,map and yellow bellied are require the same care and feeding. These guys should always be able to eat when they are hungry not when the owner decides to feed them. They cannot live on pellets and dry food. It will make them sick and stunt thier gowth if they live. These guys in the wild eat anything that moves..ANYTHING!I  Crickets and meal worms and garden worms minnows wild guppies and goldfish/carp. I have two that are 36 yrs old!! Plus an 8 and 5 yr old.

I have had them in a pond for about 6 yrs now..

Did you tell your friend that they need to bask under a reptile light for  8 to 10 hrs a day for the vitamin D that  they need to grow.

Leave the heater on 75 to 78 degrees always.

Their water needs to be clean otherwise they get sick easily from dirty water cause they p**p allot.

Do you tell your friend that  need a good filter system?

And that they  need to feed them feeder guppies, goldfish or minnows for protein and calcium daily drop 20 or so in the tanks and watch them disappear?

They need leafy greens for vitamins at least 3 to 4 times a week.

And a big tank 55 gallons or more.?

If she doesn't have all this the turtle will not survive.

  6. I'd recommend keeping your turtle and fish separate from the beginning.  You're going to have to have to separate them eventually anyway, so go ahead and get the turtle its own tank.

  7. Goldfish are a very good source of protein to the turtles. If i were you, feed them to the turtles................. but to answer your question, yes, they WILL be eaten

  8. no! dont risk it!

  9. The safe thing is to keep them separate. You might get away with a day together. Then again, you might not. Turtles will eat goldfish, although they shouldn't. Goldfish are fattier than a fast-food hamburger.
