I am about to turn 21 and I will be out of town for my birthday so I won't be able to change my vertical driver's license to a horizontal one in time. I want to be able to go out to bars but I am wondering if anyone knows any information on this. I will be going to Colorado and Las Vegas

  1. As long as the license/ID is valid, it should not matter whether it's vertical/horizontal.  A valid ID should be more than sufficient.  But don't be surprised if your asked for a second form of ID.

  2. As long as your birth date shows that you're 21, then it'll be accepted.

And not all states do the vertical thing to denote someone under 21, so if you're from out of state they might not know anything about vertical licenses.

  3. it says under 21 until your birthdate, so once its past that date, its fine. i know some people who havent changed theres since their current doesnt expire until age 24. You'll be fine.

  4. Of course it does, unless it expires on your 21st birthday. That is pretty unlikely though. I plan on using my vertical license as long as I can. You are only young once!

  5. If it's a legal photo ID with your age on it. They will accept it.

When I turned 21 I had a problem with two bars cause it said on my license "Under 21 Until _____", but that was rare.
