Will be arriving in Rome on 5/1 then heading to Umbria, Florence, Venice, then Milan...are the evenings cool?

  1. I'll be getting there eon May 12 :-).

    Your evenings will be cool no matter what at that time of year, so you should have a sweater or light jacket at least.  

    Remember that the Venice is about 250 miles north of Rome, so it will be considerably cooler than Rome, and it will be more likely that you will encounter rain.

    Similarly, when you are in Umbria, you will be surrounded my more nature and mountains, so you are likely to be at elevation where it will get cool.  The difference in temperature between Rome and even the southern-most tip of Umbria can easily be 15 degrees.
