  1. You must visit Temple bar, in the Temple Bar area - even if it's just to say you've been.

  2. For 'decent' pubs and restaurants, anywhere but Temple Bar.

Tourists think it is 'real' Dublin - it is an over-priced, over-rated h**l-hole. By all means visit it to see what goes on there, but if you want nice food and nice pubs, it is really not the place to be.

On the other hand if you like bumped up prices and pools of vomit, Temple Bar is right up your street.

For a really good quality restaurant, catch the 'early bird' menu in Chapter One on Parnell Square - outstanding and excellent value.

Try some of the many new Chinese/Korean restaurants on Parnell Street for cheap but high quality food. Try any of the wide variety of restaurants on the side streets to the left side of Dame Street - the side opposite Temple Bar.

For good pubs, there are a few not that far from Temple Bar - Mulligan's in Poolbeg Street, the Stag's Head, the Long Hall, Hughes at the Four Courts.

  3. this site is very useful for restaurants in dubln

  4. Break for the Border

  5. temple bar in general is really good even for during the day.
