  1. Most visitors stay in or near the Ramblas or in the Gothic Quarter just to the east. This is a good base from where you can explore the city's sights by day including Gaudi's masterpiece, the unfinished Sagrada Família Cathedral, and Parc Güell in the north. See http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/places/barcelo... There are many different ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve, or Nochevieja which means ‘The Old Night’ in Spain see http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/new_year.htm

  2. The places people said are fine. Usually the most crowded. This year, though, plaza glories, next to agbar tower will be crowded as well as the building will color itself to welcome new year. Should be fun. In Spain, we eat 12 grapes, just before new year starts to give us luck, 99% of the population does it either in their houses or in the street. Regional tv, will be in the agbar tower doing this event that night.

  3. Around Plaza Cataluña. There, your will have The Ramblas, Passeig de Gracia. Portal del Angel, the Barrio Gótico.
