Will be in Jurancon,France for 2wks-I'm a photographer-where can i go/what should i see? weather in sept?

Wow! as a photographer, you're going to have a ball!

I lived in Jurançon as a kid, and the Pyrenees Mountains are a treat for the senses.

Here are a few of the things to see. Once you're on sight, talk to local folks about their favorite spots, and possibly ask a local hiking club if you can join them on an excursion. The Pau tourism office can likely help you with that, and they may even offer local tours.

From the boulevard des Pyrénées in the neighboring city of Pau, a clear day will open up a panoramic view of the Pyrénées Mountains.

Check out the Notre Dame de Piétat. There used to be a terrific little restaurant up the hill too (ps.name? does it still exist?  this was a few years ago)

Of course, the entire Parc National des Pyrenees. Check out their web site which has a section in English: http://www.parc-pyrenees.com/.

Not to be missed is the Cirque de Garvanie - you'll be in photography heaven there.

The Valley d'Aspe and d'Ossau.

Don't forget to sample the sweet white wine of Jurançon...
