  1. you can ask someone to do it for you,

    Algae,

    or asking a petshop.

    Honestly

    I suggest the petshop .

  2. You could have a friend come over and feed your fish. All you  would have to do would be to give instructions on how to feed them. This is what I normally do with my fish.

You could also get vacation feeders at any pet store. They are white block looking things sometimes shaped like shells. They go in the tank and then the fish can eat that.  They come in different amount of days so you could get one for 7 days and you should be good. Some stores also sell automatic feeders and drop a little food in at the time you set it too. You have to program them and select the times to feed though.

  3. well, since you will only be gone for 5 days, that's nothing to worry about they will be fine if you care for the right precautions, which are

doing a 50% waterchange with a gravel siphon just a few hours before you leave, don't forget to condition the new water which you will add

then feed your fish just as normal about an hour before you leave

STAY AWAY from block feeders, they will only ruin your established tank

when you come back, just follow back in your usual routine

    Edit*

the feeding blocks are not about clouding your water, but about wasting in the tank and accumulating to high ammonia as well as high nitrAtes, which is dangerous to the fish

  4. there isn't some food that keeps fish alive for 5 days, just have a friend or family member check in on them a few times.

  5. If your fish are healthy, then they will be fine for 5 days, I've doon it before and they seem to be fine, just make sure the water quality is good and feed them right before you go.....

I wouldn't let my friends feed my fish because they will overfeed them and you will come home to a dirty tank, unless you have a freind that's an expert

  6. Just Purchase one of those autofeeders from like wal mart or someplace like that...they arent expensive...or you can buy the weekend feeders...fish love those...and those are way cheaper

  7. There are autofeeders that can drop pellets or flakes into the water.  In addition, if you have salt water fish tank you can buy those timer plugs that turns on and off for your lighting.

  8. Get weekend fish food feeders they are little white rock things that the fish go and eat.

  9. There are actually "vacation feeders" which dissolve slowly.  These slow dissolving feeders will feed your fish for up to 2 weeks.  Check out the link below.
