Not measureably. They may reduce methane emissions but that's such a tiny contributor that they won't save the world.

I don't quit know what beano or gas-x is but all carbon based fuels, including methanol, natural gas and LPG will produce CO2. These fuels are also less economical to burn in an internal combustion engine so therefore you have to burn more when it comes to comparing then to common petrol/gas. So the use of alternate fuels can have a greater contribution to CO2 emissions.

Don't be fooled by the hype on alternative fuels. They could have a greater negative effect on the environment.

And no I don't work for an oil company.
