  1. when i first became one (3-4 years ago) i lost about half a stone (7lbs) in the first two weeks.

since then my weight is stable unfortunately :(

  2. WEll i am a vegetarian it dose not help u lose weight

  3. No - you can still eat chocolate & chips and drink alcohol!

  4. Possibly not if you like cheese. Crisps and biscuits and cakes are vegetarian as well. So you'll have the same struggles as before with possibly less protein.

  5. nope i lasted 2 month i looked ill and i was ill becoz i diidnt eat meat n im a fussy eater so i didnt eat much but chips lol u look n feel different n people notice it aswell

  6. yes it will help you but only if you eat good vegetarian foods in small portions. eating chocolate chips and chips and having soda are OK for a vegetarian diet but will make you fatter.

If you want to become a vegetarian because of the weight loss you are doing it for the wrong reasons

  7. It won't help you as much as not eating junk food and takeaways. Always cook your own food from scratch and never eat anything bought frozen, except vegetables like peas. And chips aren't vegetables.

  8. Possibly, i have been vegetarian for 7 Months and since then have lost a stone

But if you just eat plenty or organic or free range meat that will be alot more healthy for you because they dont add things to it most of the time , which is good!

Try not eating any junkie food like kfc, mcdonalds and other places like that (trust me they have loads of calories in their!!! >:-( )

    Try visiting this website

  9. No, it won't automatically make you lose weight. It all depends on the food you eat and the calories it has. Some people choose vegetarianism because they believe a plant based diet is healthier than one that focuses on meat, which is known to be high in saturated fat and cholesterol. The belief that a vegetarian diet will aid weight loss is a myth, most likely based on the stereotype of the thin, waif-like vegetarian. There's no guarantee that a plant based diet will really help anyone lose weight. Weight is about calories in and calories out. Although certain types of food are more calorie dense - pound for pound, for example, beef contains more calories than broccoli - it's possible to eat too many calories of any food. Choosing a vegetarian diet doesn't necessarily mean you'll consume fewer calories, which is a key component for losing weight. There are plenty of high-calorie vegetarian foods. For the lacto-ovo vegetarian, foods such as eggs, cheese and milk can be packed with calories. Even vegans - who shun all animal products - can eat their fill of pasta, potatoes, bread and some sugary sweets. There are vegetarian and vegan versions of brownies, cupcakes, cookies, doughnuts and pies. Choosing vegetarianism does not eliminate these treats from your diet. Studies have found that losing a significant amount of weight - and keeping it off - generally requires a regular exercise program. And that has nothing to do with what you eat.

If you're thinking about adopting a vegetarian diet to assist with your weight loss endeavors, you'll still need to limit high calorie foods (like cupcakes and doughnuts), and you should try to eat more whole foods (like fruits and veggies). By doing this, you will be able to drop a few pounds on a vegetarian diet. Substituting fruits and veges for fatty meats is a great lifechoice in my opinion. Eating a vegetarian diet is a great choice to me, just be careful what you eat ...... = )

  10. No. I didn't lose weight when I became one. Meat contains more fat than veggie protein but I didn't notice any change in my weight.

  11. not if you have a balanced diet. however if you have the correct diet and plenty of excesses the weight should come off.

  12. No it will make you smell & *art,

It's a Myth that all Vegetarians, are Health Freaks,

Supermarkets, Fastfood Outlets etc are full of high calorie Veggie Foods & Ready Meals, ( Veggie Burgers, Veggie Pizza, Veggie Curry, )

  13. I lost about 15 pounds, I started the day I graduated high school and the weight was lost by that November. Not intentionally. I have always weighed the same since (3 years), a healthy 120, but I think I also have a freakish metabolism that helps me consume sweets more than the average person.

It really all depends on what you eat, your genetics, metabolism, etc. Everyone's different. When my boyfriend was vegetarian, he almost disappeared. But he was also working two night jobs in New York City... What I'm trying to say is that losing weight isn't just about diet, but the right vegetarian diet on the whole has a good chance of maintaining a healthy weight.

  14. Sometimes it does.... If you become a vegetarian and cut junk food from your diet you will probably lose weight.

  15. not really. maybe vegan because most junk foods contain some sort of milk products (im thinking cookies) and you can't eat those.

but it doesn't make you gain weight, vegetarian foods are a lot leaner than meat. just watch snacks.

  16. Not necessarily - any time you have a habit of overeating and not exercising you will be overweight. Any sensible diet and good exercise regimen will help you lose weight and stay fit. To get an idea of good food management go to MyPryamid.gov and see what a difference eating well and getting fit will do wonders.

  17. NO, Important to eat meat and fish

  18. As long as you're not a "junk food vegetarian" you will likely lose weight.  You will no longer be consuming foods that are high in fat and cholesterol.  Just eat smart and not only will you lose weight but you'll feel healthier.

  19. Nope. I've been veggie since 1975 and I haven't lost any weight! Veggies can still eat chips, after all. And, by the way, it isn't important to eat meat or fish. I'm a lot healthier and fitter than many meat-eaters I know - lots of whom seem to think that junk food (containing saturated animal fats) is the route to salvation. Poor misguided fools!

  20. Not really, everything you eat to supplement proteins from meat are also fatty. so you have to be careful.... soys, nuts and carbs add up. my friend lost weight then started gaining it after 4 months because of all the carbs and protien supps. its a lot of management and balancing

  21. I'm not sure, to be honest. I think eating more vegetables (compared to junk food) couldn't hurt. However, I work with a man who is 340 lbs, and he's been a vegetarian for the past 30 years, so they are not always these small waiffy things.

  22. worked for me,lost about 30lbs.. but you still have to eat healthy..cant just eat chips and soda:-) but remember, meat eaters are both large and thin as well...just have to eat healthly.

    vegetarian for a year
