Will best buy take exchanges without a reciept?

my best friend just replaced my ipod after she lost mine, but she got a color i don't like. her dad lost the reciept and is pretty mad about the situation and doesn't want to cooperate with me on exchanging it. can i exchange the one i have for a different color without the reciept?

You might have to call them and see.  i have heard horror stories about them not wanting to take things back with receipts.  Good Luck.
