I have Bauer 4000's that are about 12 years old. I play recreationally. Will newer and better skates improve my skating? What are a good pair of skates?

(I don't need any wise-*** answers, so please spare me.)

  1. Well it depends. If you're a really good skater already they may not help youtoo much, maybe a little, but i have friends who get new skates and afterward there like POW amazing. I think it just depends on what skates, who's skating, etc. You always have to take in consideration on breaking in the new skates which personally i think sucks. When i got new hockey skates i sucked for like a week but after that i got used to them and did really well. Well, i hope i helped

  2. if they do help, new skates that is, it will only be a little. Not to mention at first you you will have to take time to break the new pair in and get used to.

  3. If you are already a pretty good skater then new skates myay help you, but if you are not very good you wont magically get better by having nice skates.  I would go for it but breaking them in will be a pain in the @ss.
