Question:

Will birds eat spiders?

I live next to an open field, and my backyard/house is being overwhelmed by spiders. I've had terminix out, and that's helped with the house problem, but they're still all over my backyard. I was thinking about putting up some bird feeders hoping that birds will stick around and eat the spiders. Will this work?

  1. yeah, it will. especially the larger of bird you can attract.

such as red winged black birds, or mocking birds will eat almost any insect including centipedes and spiders...

smaller birds such as sparrows and finches, will not however.

  2. They love 'em. Don't get rid of all the spiders, who's going to kill the flies ?

  3. Yup, birds will eat spiders. Another thing that feasts on spiders are centipedes, but I don't think you want an infestation of those.
