Question:

Will braces make my jawline more noticable? (see details)?

I do not want my jaw to stand out any more than it already does because it is not perfectly aligned.

I am getting braces this fall to straighten my teeth and make myself look better, I only have a very slight bite problem which I may not even have the braces adress.

I am currently unhappy with the aesthetics of my jaw and teeth but I talked this over with a doctor and I am not willing to do major jaw surgery so I am hoping that if I fix my teeth I will be happier with my appearance.

I am 24 so the doctors do not think my jaw will worsen with this procedure, and they understand I am getting this procedure to help make myself look better and as an alternative to getting major jaw correction surgery - but now I am wondering, will people notice the jaw more?

  1. Near the end of the time in which you will have the braces, you will most likely be given rubber bands which attach to ur top and bottom teeth. This forces you to talk with a straight jaw and after a few weeks helps to train your mouth to talk properly thus aligning your jaw.

  2. they should not.
