Will buffing help my door paint shine?

i sanded my door down to the metal wet sanded it..put on primer wet sanded it a few times and painted it but it looks really dull someone said rubbing compound and buffing! can some one tell me if this would make it shine and how long should i buff it 4? or anyother steps i need to take thank you 95 black yukon gt! thanks...lookin 4 a BEST ANSWER!!!

  1. Well i have never tried it however the other day i was painting an umbrella base and someone recommended using gloss paint to give it a shine rather than flat. It really worked.

    ^^^ the outside of this was painted with high gloss black paint although you can get hi gloss in many other colors.

  2.    Just use a high gloss paint.I never heard of "Buffing" paint before.8/27

  3. Did you use a gloss paint or a flat? This will make all the difference. I would try to go over it with a gloss finish to ad shine and seal the deal. However, waxing wood door and cabinets with car wax is a great way to make them shine and reduce prints.
