  1. Probably not if the dog only eats it occasionally.  The occasional ingestion of cat food often results in diarrhea.  Because cat food is typically higher in fat than dog food it can trigger pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas, which will require hospitalization with fluids, anti-nausea medications, and antibiotics) in dogs that are prone to it.  Long-term, the high protein content of cat food can actually contribute to kidney damage.

  2. on a long term basis, cat food isnt good for dogs, it doesnt have enough vitamins, because its made for cats :P

but occasionally it doesnt hurt, most cats love dog food, and vice versa :)

  3. Propabiy not, but it would be a lot better to give your bog DOG FOOD.

  4. Yes, it may. Usually the main consequence is diarrhea. Dog food is for dogs and cat food is for cats.

  5. Yes, it is harmful to dogs, it may seem a little strange because they both look and smell similar, but cat food usually contains a higher level of protein and fat than that of dog’s equivalent. Although consumption by your dog won’t cause as much harm as some of the other toxic foods that could be fed, it’s probably best to ensure that it isn’t fed to your faithful friend.

  6. Well when I had my cat, my dog would leave his dog biscuits and eat hers instead. Anyway, my cat and dog only like the most expensive food (trust them lol) and so when we saw they were half price in the store, we brought over £100 worth of cat food! (english money, so that like $180) Anyway my kitty sadly died 1 month ago :( and of course after grieving and stuff we remembered that the garage was full of cat biscuits.  So we just mix it in with the dog biscuits.  He picks out the cat biscuits first! He hasnt been affected at all. :)

  7. It can potentially cause stomach upset in your dog, and you can imagine what that means.

Keep in mind that cat food is nutritionally balanced for a cat, and naturally dog food is balanced for a dog. While it's no immediate cause for concern for your canine friend if he or she eats cat food, be aware of what you may have to clean up.

  8. No it won't harm a dog. The main difference in dog and cat food is that cat food is higher in fat - dogs don't need the extra fat. Plus I believe it has a higher amount of protein (I believe it is this, but could be wrong) which dogs don't need the high amount.

So, no, it won't harm them, but it would be better for them to put them on dog food!!

  9. wow i guess nobody understands that cat food can actually harm dogs...as it wont kill them but it can cause Major health issues..I have seen many dogs eat it and not have any reaction but diarrhea, and then there are several dogs that will go into seizes..I have seen many dogs have this side effect including my mothers dog...and yes it was confermed by a vet that it was in deed the cat food...their is one ingredient in cat food that should not be givin to dogs...SO YES it is harfull to dogs...

  10. No, silly.

  11. Most pet foods are designed for a particular animal. Eating another animals food should not hurt your dog, but neither will it help other than to fill the appetite.

  12. Yes! do not let your dog eat cat good. There is a specific ingredient in the cat food that could make your dog go blind or def. If the dog eats it everyday. Also, cat food is made for cats! with different vitamins and protien levels.

Dogs need different levels of proteien and vitamins.

I would suggest to train your dog not to eat it, or raise your cat food higher.

  13. Yes and no. This won't kill a dog, but it's not good for your dog either. Dogs and cats have different diet needs. Cat food is made specifically for cats and doesn't meet the dog's health standards.

  14. My neighbour's little jack russell cross ***** has lived on cat food all her life and she is the healthiest little dog I know.

  15. No, but, goodluck if your dog will say, 'Meow'. :)

  16. well, i cant say your dog would be harmed... but it isnt meant for dogs, so dont substitute his food with cat food. cat food has too much fats and protein, which is not good for your dog. a little wont hurt though. :D
