I was taking Paxil for two and half years and gained 60 lbs. I am now on Celexa will I keep gaining or start losing? I can't afford to gain anymore. I'm 5'2' and 230 lbs.

  1. celexa is known for weight gain but it is not the med that puts on weight its that it makes you want to eat more.

  2. Any anti-depressant can make you gain weight if you're not careful.  I've gained 40, and I'm on Celexa.  I'm not sure if this is true for you, but I've come to the realization that the anti-depressant makes me not pay as much attention to what I'm putting in my mouth, so I eat more.  I'm also dealing with thyroid issues too, though.  Don't give up!  Talk to your doctor about weight-loss programs, mine is helping me.
