Question:

Will changes to my site lower my search ranking?

I have a mortgage related website that is #2 for a couple of good search terms. I need to make a few changes to the contact submission form and some of my contact information. I don't want to risk anything lowering my search rank because this is where most of my visitors come from.

Can someone enlighten me on this subject?

Thanks

Charlie

  1. At the contrary! Webcrawlers are searching the net quite frequently and websites which get updated ever once in a while get higher ranks! Take my nickname for example - it may sound unusual, but it is actually the name of a very popular cactus. When you enter "echinopsis" in Google Germany (I'm registered with YC), you get 227.000 results and my Yahoo profile pops up at #16. When you enter "echinopsis" in the English speaking Google, you get 256.000 results and my profile pops up at #84. My profile certainly wouldn't rank that high if I wasn't so active, the same applies to any website, even yours! Try to update it frequently, upload new content, offer freebies if possible and you'll be even more successful than now...:-)
