  1. Some family of mine own chickens that are in the exact same environment that you have asked in your question - and their chickens do extreemely well (healthy and are always lively - lay alot of eggs) so it would be a good environment for them.

    : )

Chickens like to eat grass so always make sure to have at least a small bit of grass in there.

  2. Yes,they can live happily in a nettled garden. Though they will strip it bare after a while! It depends how over grow it is,because when we first got our chooks, the free-ranged area we had for them was

basically just a sea of nettles & weeds! It took them a few months to clear it! Soil IS best for them as they can find, earthworms grubs & beetles, also one of the most important thing they can "sand/dust bathe" in the soil. This is when the chickens will lay on their sides & thrash & kick earth onto themselves this activity gets or helps to get ride of feather/rad mites or any other parasite on the bird. Also they like to roll around! Your garden sounds perfect for them, they will be perfectly happy there! They should always be entertained!

Hope this helps & you get some chooks for your, perfect Chicken suited garden! x*x
