I just took some children's pain reliever liquid motrin in the hopes of helping reduce menstrual cramps--so will the motrin function correctly for a teen also, or is it specifically just for children?

I'm not good with swallowing pills..

  1. Motrin is only Ibuprophen, childrens is a lower dose.  For cramps, I take at least 400 mg.  Dont overdo it or you will mess your tummy up and end up on the toilet anyway.

  2. think it depends on how much u took

  3. It's the same medicine, only a lower dose.

So, it's not as strong. For it to work for you, you need to take a little more.

  4. depends on how much you took hun.. for older plp id say it would require more..look on the bottle..

  5. It should. It worked for me at 18 for fever.

  6. It should say on the bottle

  7. just take more than the normal dose of it

  8. Sometimes the directions will tell you 12 and over get a certain dose..just take that much, if it hasn't helped after 3 hours, take that much again, then wait at least 6 hours to take that much again.

  9. It will work depending on if you took the right amount for your weight. That would probably be a lot for a teen though, here is a web site on how to swallow a pill from Wikihow maybe this will help.    http://www.wikihow.com/Swallow-a-Pill

  10. No, you need Lorcets.

  11. depends on how much u took

  12. Depends on how much you weigh. If you are relatively underweight, then it should work for you.

  13. yes I took it all the time. I had a TERRIBLE time swallowing pills. It works fine as long as you take the recommended doses at the specified times. Look on the label, it might even have adult dosage. It should say "Children and adults over 12 years of age." I keep a bottle on hand, regular Ibuprofin hurts my stomach  sometimes and this kills the pain without the tummy ache!

  14. Yes, it works just fine.  Children's motrin is simply a lower dosage.  You may need to take more to relieve your symtoms or you may be fine because you only need a low dosage for your cramps.

By the way, try a good flavored pudding to swallow your pills with.  You can usually "hide" them in a big swallow and it goes down smoothly and taste good :)

  15. No, the medicine is really designed for kids and teens around the age of 15/16, after 17 it's time for the adult medicine.
