I used half a bottle of Oxyclean but they don't seem to be fading. Will chlorine bleach effectively remove these stains? They're like ink stains, except I got them when I sat on the grass.

  1. You want to also remember , if you have already put the item in the dryer, the stain will now be set. But, if not, then take some liquid Shout ( the stick don't work as good) and spray the stain and let soak in overnight .Do not rinse out the Shout, but 2nd step put some Dawn dish soap also on stain and rub in real good. By hand, scrub in some water just at your sink and work the shout/dawn soap in to see if any of the stain is lifting . When washing in the machine, you can add some bleach and  make sure to use warm wash, and cold rinse.

  2. yea duh!

  3. lol ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha hah a ha ha so sorry have to laugh

  4. I never liked Oxyclean for that exact reason.

Pretreat the stain with Tide Powder with bleach... Place it directly on the stain and scrub the heck out it with a brush (I use the one that is typically for dishes sold at all grocery stores) ... Then let it sit for 15 minutes and wash. Once washed, check it.. if the stain is still there, do it again. I have had to do this 3 times in a row in the past.. but it saved my white bramudas.

I have also heard that bleach mixed with hydrogen peroxide works very well

Another idea is to use Biz Laundry additive... (This is what my mother did---- it was a pain in the tush, but I never had grass stained clothes)... Take a huge bowl of water and place it in a pan. You should then heat the water until boiling. Then, carefully add 1 cup of Biz laundry additive to the water while being careful not to burn yourself. (The water is very hot) You should then stir up the mixture until the Biz is completely dissolved. Once the Biz is dissolved, you should take the mixture off the hot stove. Then, take your grass stained clothes and put them into the pot for about an hour. Next, you should let the clothes completely cool. Once they are completely cool, you should take the items out of the pot and then wash them in the washing machine as usual. This method should completely remove the grass stains.

Just some ideas... I hope one works for you. Good Luck!

  5. I know for a fact that the answer is "no" for "any kind of stain on white cotton."  If I get dirt from my garden on me and then try to wash it off in the shower using soap and a washcloth, the washcloth will be stained with the soil and will not come clean.  We have tried everything, even boiling in clorox.
