Will clomid raise my progesterone level?

My doc said that my progesterone level was 4.5 which is low and tells me that I barely ovulated (whatever that actually means!).He put me on 50mg of Clomid days 5-9 this cycle. Will Clomid alone help my progesterone problem?

clomid will make most women ovulate.  if 50 mg doesnt work they will up your dosage next time.  your progesterone levels should increase after ovulating with clomid.  the dr will have you come in for a progesterone level check around cycle day 21 after taking clomid to see if you ovulated.  if not they will put you on 100mg daily for 5 days.
