Of course it will.

Something around 33% of household waste is organic, most of that could be composted. It has to be transported to landfill where it creates methane, a GHG 20 time the strength of CO2. Composting releases a little CO2 but locks up more and allows you to grow plants!!

composting helps by giving back to the earth the things we take from it , it helps to enrich to soil, for better tasting foods.  and yes, it helps to reduce waste.

Of course it  will reduce the waste going to landfill! If we all composted biodegradable waste, it would reduce the landfill from homes by up to 60%. It's the biodegradable waste that produces methane in the landfill sites. Composting is one of the biggest things eah person can do at home to help reduce waste.

Compost is great for the garden , and makes less carry-away garbage , but in the long run , it will not reduce waste because anything that decomposes to nothing in the compost pile , will also decompose in the land fill .

It's the material that will not decompose , that is the problem .

Well here in my neighborhood which is a country setting many people still burn there leaves, sticks, and branches. If they were to compost it would be a better alternative. Again, education apparently is lacking. So besides reducing waste it should make for cleaner air.

yes, because if you think about it, if you do not compost, your banana, apple, pear skin peels, your rotton food, and any other compostable things would take up precious space in landfills if you didn't compost

it's much better to return nutrients to mother earth
