  1. The Princess  Cruise line web site appears to prevent any such changes within 45 days of your cruise. Here's what it says:

" A $50 service fee per passenger, per change will be assessed for each change to the cruise, cruisetour or Cruise Plus Hotel Packages beginning 45 days prior to sailing. However, no change will be made unless permitted under our cancellation policy. The service fee will not be assessed when upgrading stateroom accommodations. Air tickets may not be changed within 30 days of your departure. Additional charges may be assessed for changes to air tickets or air reservations. Please review our Passage Contract for full details."

And the passenger contract does not provide any more leeway.

BUT, call Princess and explain that you need to change a passenger name because of an emergency and see what they say.  They may assess the $50 fee and make the change.  You pretty much have no other recourse.

  2. Yes they should.  I got invited at the last minute to go on a celebrity cruise line cruise with my bestfriend from college and they let her change the ticket so I could go with her no problem.

  3. You are out of luck.  That is the reason for cruise insurance.  A cruise ticket is the same as an airline ticket.  It is good only for the named passenger.

  4. Southwest is easy to change as they are GREAT to work with.

We (t/a) all have help desk that can get involved.

You are booked as cruise only so I feel confident that you'll get this done.

    Enjoy.

  5. Tinkertoy has said it all again!

I think that you should contact your travel agent straight away, they should have all the relevant phone numbers to get to the right people.

If you booked on line, contact the cruise line and the airline yourself and explain the situation, you only want to change the second passenger, it's not as if you want to cancel.

I don't think that the airline will be a problem, they will just charge you a fee for the name change.

The cruise line may be a different matter, if they stick to their terms and conditions, although I have always found Princess to be understanding and accommodating.

It's unfortunate that it is so close to the sailing date, cancellation is an expensive option, nearly 90% penalty I believe.

Don't hang around thinking about it, phone straight away.

    Good luck.
