Will cutting my long hair make me swim faster?

does my long hair slow me down more in the pool than if i had short hair?

  2. Its just a little sayin that people say but the real thing that make you swim faster is workingout and hard work and dedication

  3. It will reduce the drag if you have no, or shorter hair. Or you can wear one of the caps that covers your head.

  5. It will cut down on drag and reduce your time minimally (0.2 - 0.8 per 50). I've noticed that when I wear a cap I usually do slightly faster, but it may just be a mental thing. As for cutting your hair, it's probably not worth it when you can use a cap.

Well, it's not going to make a big difference, but when it comes to championship meets, the swimmers either wear the swim caps or shave their heads.  This can make the difference of split seconds or a bit more, which can be the difference between 1st place and 2nd.  And short hair would have less drag than long hair.
