Question:

Will deer eat the lavender in the yard?

I live on a base, and the deer roam free!

I have a hill behind my yard I would like to cover with lavender plants.

Will they eat them?

I don't have a way to fence the plants in, or shoo away the deer either.

Any ideas?

  1. Lavender is deer resistant, meaning deer do not eat it.

Here is a link to a  list of other deer resistant plants:

    good luck

  2. Lavender is one of the most unpleasant plants to eat for deer and rabbits.  Most bugs don't even eat it for some reason.

You could try growing a variety of lavender, from tall and spiky to short and round, just for eye appeal.
