I don't feel to good. I started pristiq almost a week ago but I also take zanax at night for sleep. I just can't seel to cope with everything goin on in my life. Everything seems like it just stopping for me. I am trying to live and I can't seem to get out of the house. I miss him so bad but my emotions got in the way and I was tripping over myself. I really think he hates me forever. I am so insecure because of past relationships and I just don't know what all went down in the end but its over.

  1. It's a tough question.  Some people can get beyond depression quickly, and others do battle with their demons for the greater part of their lives.  It all really depends on the steps you take to get yourself the help and support you need, and the desire you have to work to get better.

Medications are a great asset, but know too that it can take some time to find which one is right for you.  If you're not feeling better after some time, let your doctor know and see if a dosage or medication change is due.  What works for one person may not work for the next.

And make sure that you're getting help and support along the way.  Counseling or therapy can be great tools, as well as having friends and family around to help when you feel down.

Lastly, know yourself.  Know what gets you down, and what picks you up again.  Chart your moods and keep track of them to try and plan around them, or find active ways to confront them.

Depression isn't an easy beast to tame most of the time.  And recovery of any sort often doesn't happen in a straight line.

    Hang in there.  Good luck!

  2. No not normally. Sometimes you can take classes for it. Or you can talk to your best friend or family about it too.

    Hope this helps good luck!

  3. I know how you feel. You're just in a bad bout of depression. You need to talk to someone about what's upsetting you and see your doctor if you need medication. You need to rediscover joy in life. You will be fine, but act now and don't lounge around and watch life pass you by; worst thing you can do!
