Will/did hurricane dolly go through cancun?

my friend asked this question too and our friend went to cancun and she was in cancun for a couple of days already. has dolly gone through there? if so how bad was it!? we havent heard from her yet!!!

Don't worry! Dolly did pass close to Cancun on Sunday night, but it was NOT a hurricane, it was a Tropical Storm.

This means it brought rain and wind (up to about 45 mph) but the sun will be out again today or tomorrow and nobody was in any danger.

The media love to exaggerate whenever there is a storm in the Caribbean and they don't seem to realise how much damage they can do to the local economies by scaring tourists away unnecessarily.

I'm sure your friend is busy enjoying Margaritas, Fajitas and the great local people and that is the only reason you haven't heard from her!

The National Hurricane Center in Miami said the storm is moving northwest near 15 mph and is expected to cross the peninsula and move into the Gulf of Mexico later in the day.
