  1. It will grow grass.  Grass roots spread and pop up new little plants.  (Think about how at the cemetery, after graves are dug and are free of grass, how the grass gradually comes back in.  I'm sure you've noticed how the newest graves have no grass over them, and the ones a few months old have some grass, and the ones older than that are entirely covered with grass.)  The grass will grow back.

  2. Yes...........but just scratch around in it a little and buy a handful of seed and plant it.........3 days you see green....not dollars but work.

  3. if ur using seed u should add nutriance to the soil u can get from ur local hardware store and try adding a thin layer of cow manure over the seed

    or consider using sod

  4. Aerate the soil a little and either buy some grass seed or wait for the existing grass to spread.

Don't flood the area with water, just give it a light sprinkle every few days.

  5. it will grow in EVENTUALLY on its own, BUT, you're better off making it grow in quicker if you want to get rid of that patch in your lawn asap.

spread a relatively thin layer of loam on the patch

rake it out towards the edges of the existing grass

it can even go over the grass a little bit.

use a spring rake specifically, because it will keep the layer thin.

very generously sprinkle some seed on the dirt

rake it in a little bit.

    water it lightly everyday.

    enjoy.
