  1. SP2 more to consider the security issues, your IP is set to automatically acquire, is in fact obtained from a DHCP servers and IP-related parameters, but this process may be due to some reasons, did not complete. In SP1 era, under such circumstances, the operating system in order to prevent from network to network card installed Zizuozhuzhang 169. x*x reservations IP, not to make any errors, if the computer does not have access to the correct IP, then they also address through a reservation Can communicate with. But after installing SP2, the operating system based on "security"-oriented principle and distribution of any IP, cut off network connections, and to report error, "local restrictions or even accept the connection."

  2. You should be looking at the network from behind a firewall. If you have a router, it probably is a NAT (Network Address Translation) router and also a firewall.

The firewall will stop people from scanning any of the machines behind the network. You can go to grc.com and get "shields up" to test what is open on your network and computer.
