Question:

Will dogs still have rabies even if it has no contact with other dogs?

for example, If i had a dog that was born in our house...has never had any contact with other dogs/cats/rats/bats..etc whatsoever, will it still somehow catch rabies?...Can they be in born with rabies? what if the mom doesn't have rabies?

  1. Probably don't have to worry about rabies in your case. they are not born with rabies, they only get it by being bitten by another animal that has it.  But the  best way to be safe is take it to the vet for the shot. Then you will know it is safe.

Rabies is a virus transmitted by an animal that has it.  Bites, blood.  No, not to my knowledge can they be born with rabies, either.  It IS vital to their health to have them protected by a vaccination.  Other bad diseases, such as distemper, can live in the soil, long after the infected animal has died.  Keeping your pets current on preventative shots is the most loving thing you can do.

  4. No they aren't born with rabies, they would need to come into contact with rabies. It is law tho that you vaccinate your dog against rabies. If you do this, then you don't need to worry.
