digital tv is every where. you would only need a converter box if you have an old tv (one without a digital tuner).

yes i think so. Everyone will be able to get a converter box . I think they will be available even at Walmarts.

It would really depend on your location, if some channels are currently kinda grainy or snowy, you may have trouble receiving that channel as digital.

It may break up and pix elate alot.

Get the best antenna possible for DTV and get an amp and amplify the signal as close to the antenna as possible

You may get more stations since some may develop "sub - stations"

You can fit about 12 digital channels or 4 HD channels for 1 analog channel

The simple answer is yes.  But it's not all that simple.

A >full power< digital station will generally have about the same coverage as the >full power< analog signal it replaces.  The problem is, at the moment, not all digital signals are at full power.  There are a number of reasons for this.  Because of logistics, there will be a lot of channel changing after the analog transmitters shut down in February and free up the channel space.  Also, broadcast stations have up to 3 years after the transition to "maximize" their signal (go to the maximum legal power).  So, results will be better after February.

Visit http://www.antennaweb.org and put in your zip code for a list of stations in your area.  If there is a date in the "Live Date" column, that station is going to make a change.  You can probably expect better performance after they get to their final channel and power.
