  1. why dont you think before you ask a question.

  2. Definitely slow you down. I ate a mocha chocolate bar before a track meet and I got cramps. You may feel hyped up when you drink it but after wards you will either feel sick and not want to run or run and cramp up or just hurt. Plus if you work too hard you'll waste your money that you spent on your milkshake and barf it up.

  3. Slow you down.  A better fuel would be a pasta dinner the night before a race.  That loads you up with glycogen which the muscles can draw on during the race.

  4. Probably not the best thing, but definitely not the worst... I would try something a bit more substantial... I'm personally not a big fan of carb loading the night before... it makes me sick, because my body isn't used to eating that quantity of food... I usually have a high protein meal the night before... I never eat fast food, except for the night before I'm running a race... in which I eat a Large Arby's Roast Beef - without the bun... because it's high in protein...

I'd stay away from the shake...
