i currently have a suziki sedan 4 cylinder, goes ok will last me aother 5-10 hopefully fingers crossed! years, but i need a ute or a 4wd as i have horses and need the space for food etc. with the price off fuel is it worth holding off and saving for something new to come along? will electric cars be the new thing or is there something else? and does anyone know when they'll be available to the average working class citizens? or should we still be converting to gas?

  1. there is getting to be more companies springing up in reguards to electric vehicles. Pheonix Motor Cars has a sporty looking truck that will be available. Don't count on the Big Three to be compliant

  2. A lot of talk is made of electric cars but at the moment the electricity to power them must still me made primarily from fossil fuels!

They are still in the prototype stage to my knowledge!

  3. I think for right now the toyota prius is still the best option for a relatively affordable and efficient car. Check out teslamotors.com, because they do have a new 100 % electric car by what the front page says. It looks super cool, but however much i want one, i might have to save quite a long time for something that pricey.

  4. Yes, electric cars will be the transportation of the future.  The first affordable highway speed EV is coming out in July - the Green Vehicles Triac.  It can go 80 mph and 100 miles per charge for $20k - less than a hybrid costs.  It is only a 2 seater though.

There are a bunch more electric cars and plug-in hybrids set to come out in the next couple of years.  Unfortunately for the most part they'll cost $30k and over, but as the technology becomes more popular, the costs will come down.  See the link below for further details.

  5. GM is putting out the Volt in 2010.

  6. yes the volt is coming out in 2010, toyota plug in is also coming out in 2010, and if your really really lucky in live in cali. the think city which is full electric will be out really soon! for only $25,000 about the size of a mini.
