i have 2 emperor scorpions. i have dirt in the tank and it started to grow mold. i know the expandable substrate (u just add water and it expands...it comes in a compressed brick) is better for them to live in, but since the tank needs to stay humid, will it grow mold. it says its meant to hold moisture but can it still grow mold?

  1. Yes, if you do  not change it frequently enough it will grow mold.  It also is perfect for hiding mites which I had a big problem with.  If you change it out regularly it should be fine though...

  2. it can but it does take a while (like a few months) chnage it every month or so and it'll be fine.
