my family just built a small waterfall and pond in our backyard and we have a little small turtle that we bought at the beach last year and we put him in it.

he loves it and he swims all around and has a good time.

but my dad wants to buy small fish that will grow to put in our pond.

we are wondering if they will eat the turtle or if the turtle would eat them.

so if someone could please help us figure this out.

thanks!

  1. If the turtle is smaller and the fish is bigger...it could b fine...but i think the turtle will still bite the fish...

  2. nope.

the turtle will eat the fish. Thats what they eat in the wild that and toss in some leafy greens a few times a week.

They need the fish for calcium and protein  they get from the fishes bones and lettuce for their vtamins. Toss in a bird cuttle bone from the bird section for added calcium. If they eat it great!..It will disolve in time and good for fish also.Walmart sells them for 97 cents .here are some pic's of my pond

  3. Actually no its the other way turtles eat fish if you try this it could prove to you that they do eat fish if you take tuna and wave  it in front of their faces they will most likely eat it and tuna is fish so goldfish are no different but there are some turtles that don't eat em or eat them if they are dead

  4. Depends on the fish, if your turtle is really small then the fish will surely grow alot faster then the turtle Ive seen large mout bass eat smaller turtles with no problem as a matter of fact ive seen them eat baby gators, ducklings, and ground squirls so yes your turtle can be eatin by a fish.

  5. your turtle will eat the fish while they are small.   as long as the fish are the same size as him there shouldnt be a problem.

  6. The turtle will most likely eat them.
