Will flavored tobacco be outlawed in the US?

I heard the tail-end of a story on NPR that sounded like there was some legislation aimed at making illegal all flavored cigarettes, including menthol, and that Phillip Morris and RJ Reynolds backed this legislation.

I'm all for protecting kids from tobacco's influences, but I like an occasional black-n-mild or clove.

Has anyone else heard this?

i did hear somethingabout it actually. but i thought it was a joke because its the most retarded thing ive ever heard. even menthols? menthols are less harsh than normal cigarettes.... i feel like thats a violation of my rights as a human being. to tell me whether i can smoke a ******* flavored cigarette or a regular one. pft.
