  1. There seems to be a trend of going from one to the other. there will continue to be different characteristics for both engines. I doubt very much that we are seeing the demise of the 2 stroke. its just part of the four stroke development programme at work. give it time it will turn around again

  2. well i think that 2 strokes have more tourqe than a 4 stroke which enables those riders to hit those jumps in say 2nd gear rather then 4th gear. Do you understand what i mean? Its like a 450, 2nd gear is equilevent to 4th gear on a 250f.

  3. There is rumor of a cleaner burning 2 stroke thats being worked on by Honda, we will know something by 2010..... Just to remind everyone it's only a rumor.

  4. I dont belive they will. 4 strokes are just too heavy to be doing freestyle with.

  5. yamaha is still making their 2 strokes

the only main manufac still producing em

  6. Dude if 2 strokes are going away then why does KTM still produce some of the fastest 250's out there, and why does Mike Kiedrowski have a 250 two stroke, and a 450 four, in his arsenal of race bikes?  The trend is going four stroke but you will never phase out two stroke.  You also cannot forget the KTM300 a sworn by bike and a solid contender on the trails.

  7. I don't think they will go away anytime soon, and I don't think FMX riders will switch unless they are forced to. 2 strokes are still the bike of choice for many GNCC riders.
