Will franchising be an option for a future career?

I have a few years left until I graduate college. I am interesting in becoming a franchisee. Will there be plenty of opportunities in the future for someone to grow as a franchisee in the Dallas area? I am currently interested in the hospitality industry. I know a lot of this area is already bought for certain franchises. What will this mean for me?

Franchises seem to do well almost anywhere.  Here's a list of the top 100 franchises.

But, there's usually a rather significant investment involved in purchasing a franchise.
