Will games require quad core 2.66GHz processor to play?

I am thinking of upgrading my single core processor so should i wait until 8 core processor to upgrade.

  1. Geez, right now dual cores are the standard. It seems that 8 cores will become a standard anywhere in the near future (except in servers), so I would grab a quad core if I could.


  2. just go ahead and upgrade it will be cheaper in the long run
