Will garden newts eat frozen blood worms ??

  1. No, I don't t think they will eat solid frozen worms, but you should at least  give it a try. It's the best way to find out.

    But I usually feed my newt live beetle larvae and earth worms.


  2. defrost them first but probably not many wild newts need food to "wriggle" chopped earthworms would be good. they should be able to find food by themselves. unless the newts WERE in your garden, in that case i say put them back where u found them. in the uk there is a species its illegal to own and its also semi-illegal to keep native species (its a bit of a grey area in the law but u can still be fined) and in America it depends what state your in but its sometimes illegal to take animals from the wild

    also its cruel stress full and usually massive shortens the life span of the animal if u try and keep a wild one in captivity

    there are plenty of places u can buy newts if u want too keep some
