A 30% price rise in the autumn will put it out of the range of ordinary people.

  1. There has been a huge new discovery that makes other US gas fields look small (in west Texas, I believe) and it is near existing gas lines so prices should be stable.  It also bodes well for electricity generation.

If you are European and thus dpend on the Russian version of the n**i Party headed by Fuher Putin, then you may have a problem as gas is expensive to freeze and ship on the high seas.

  2. thats exactly what i was thinking when watching the news today

amkes me nervous because were not coming up with anything to replace it

    WELL something efficient

thats why im working my **** off and doing what i can in summer so i can get a good job when im older

  3. it already is.

  4. Probably . So go back to the Old Days. Coal & wood fires to keep

the place warm. At least in the downstairs Living Areas.

You may be polluting to a point, but you are also getting rid of

waste , rubbish,& doing your part for re-cycling. Carbon ashes on the garden.

  5. Yes, I agree with you look out this winter, in the spring Nipsco raised there rates 40% I am NOT paying that, I purchase a wood stove before last winter, I only paid $350.00 for the whole year in fuel. I think people need to prepare themselves, go back to the basics. Stand proud my fellow poor people and be happy you won't be paying that high gas price, be self sufficient!

  6. Yes, also food, petrol, travel, in fact most things.

It will be the very rich & the very poor, all over again.

    The middle-class will disappear.

  7. I do not think the government can allow this to happen and perhaps there will be a distribution of wealth and a windfall profit tax upon the huge profits made by Centrica etc. will be used to subsidise the poorer residents of this country. We shall become a strong nulclear powered producer of electricity, subsidised by the government, and we shall not have to rely upon gas. Why is it that we export our gas and have to pay extortionate sums for importing it? It shows how bloody stupid we are. The gas suppliers should trade on much lower margins and the shareholders and senior personnel should accept lower dividends/incomes.

  8. yes,it is expensive enough as it is,last winter our bill was 250 euros evey month,so this year i,m buying a gas fire with the bottel and some warm double duvets.its disgraceful.

  9. depends on your service provider and by law the government can't allow anyone to be deprived of basic living needs and gas and electric are two of them. having said that i have always said things will come full circle. gas has been running out for a while and i suppose that was inevitable, but we still have plenty of coal that needs mining, we will just end up with coal fires again and more people employed for pit work,. is that such a bad thing?

  10. They're pushing it that way. In America it is eat or pay health insurance, here it is heat or eat. Glasgow East bye-election has shown that people will only stand for so much

  11. If they did it with oil, they can do it with natural gas. They can probably use similar excuses.

  12. seems to be heading that way we can have champagne and oysters no cooking required
