  1. No. High demand, flat supply, disruption/ sabotage in the oil fields, (Nigeria) politically unstable oil producing countries (Iraq), and high government taxes at the pump are forces that will keep the price high. The days of cheap gas are over.

  2. No and what is amazing is how fast automakers can come out with autos that get over 28mpg (They have had autos that could get over 60mpg for years, just no need to do it). The US needs to eliminate its dependency on oil the is imported. If the US produces their own oil than OPEC will just reduce the amount produced. The US needs to come up with multiple sources, CORN, COAL and etc....

  3. No, it won't.  Demand is too high and there is nothing to bring demand down.

I remember when it was $2.50 and some know it all told me it would be down around $2 in a couple years, well guess what?

It d**n near has doubled instead.

  4. well if it do it will be in the winter time but back up inthe summer maybe 5$ a gallon by next time next year

  5. i just heard the news and they say it can go up again. it would be nice if it would go down to 1.01

  6. No. See it like this: If you are a gasoline company and you've steadily raised the price to over $4 yet people have only driven about 10% less is there any motivation for you to lower prices? No.

Demand is too high as the crude oil corporations are enjoying their huge stacks of cash. The only solutions are to stop buying gas (bikes, electric mopeds, walking) and to invest in alternatives like vegetable oil, alcohol, plug-in hybrids, or even full electric vehicles (was done in the 90s with the EV1). Let's just hope the economy holds until energy problem solved.
