Will gas prices ever drop?

with gas prices what they are now adays. Do any of you all think that its safe to say that the gas will drop any time soon?

never going down man....only up...I heard today maybe $7/gallon by the end of the year!!  The only way to drop the price is boycott it and your arent going to get spoiled Americans to give up their toys, vacations and social events which all take gas

From the looks of it NO. I was told they are going to rise til about 5$ in July. I am in Miami, FL. and right now they are 3.95$

The only reason gas prices would drop is if gasoline were to become less valuable.  Do you see that happening?  I don't.

Why, oh why, do people somehow think there is no link between how valuable something is and how much it costs?

It's awfully simple, really.  Gasoline is extremely valuable, and in tremendous demand around the world, and is getting more difficult to produce.   Is there anything in that scene that would lead you to believe that the price is going down?

No, it's supposed to keep going up.

I'm going to buy a horse and ride him to work, and if you want to hang on, that's cool, but you have to help pitch in a few bucks for the straw.

well you never know. it was a pound a litre (sorry, using british pounds) last year then it went down to about 60p then back up to as high as £1.1!!

IMO the Iraq war has more of an effect on prices then the government likes to lead us to believe. It may be direct or indirectly, but investors jump everytime they hear of bad news coming out of the Iraq area (and round it as well) driving prices up. But, I have to believe oil companies play a part too or else they wouldn't be make billions in profit while pretending to be innocent bystanders. Only a luck few get rich by doing nothing.

If the war stops then maybe we will see lower prices but I'm afraid greed will never let prices go below $2.25 ever again. Hope I'm wrong.
