In the USA They may go down .....if/when we start drilling off shore, in the Arctic, in the Colorado Rockies oil shale, when the government removes some of the special "zone" formulation requirements, when something is done about the commodity speculators and When the tree huggers allow more refineries to be built.  But....Please don't hold your breath while waiting.

No they will not go down. We use so much fuel excessively and are so wasteful, we just keep consuming and consuming.  We ned to start utilizing mass transit and other forms of transportation like they do in foreign countries.  We will finally be on the same price level as Europe and they do not whine and complain as Americans do.  It is so sad, that Americans do not se how wasteful they are. All Americans want are bigger vehicles. Back when the oil embargo was in the 70's we became gas conscious, now we have forgotten.  The youth of today do not care about these issues, they will when they have to wait in linbe fir fuel like we did in the 70's.  The USA has fallen into a sad state

Gas prices are going down the second Tuesday of next week... you can take my word to the Bank on that.

They have been raising prices for stupid reasons for years now.  So I do not think the price of oil is 100% why our gas prices are so high.  It makes me wonder if they are getting the gas prices high enough to switch to another resource.  They say liquid hydrogen costs $6/gallon to make with the present technology.

My opinion is if we all stick together and stop going out on the weekends. Gas prices will go down. But if we continue going places other than work. Than gas will never go down. Instead it will continue going up.
