Will gas prices ever go back down under two dollars a gallon?

Question

By looking at the past we can some what predict the future. We have had an oil crisis before. Did the price then go back down by 50%? Will gas prices ever become reasonable or are we gonna be forced to use alternative fuel sources?

They will never go down as cheap as they were.Never again.Everything has gone way up in price.I cannot see "them" dropping prices cause they make to much money.

good question. but i think a better question is how do we get more mileage for the gas we pay for?

our engines waste 75-80% of the gas that we purchase!

an average vehicle in 2008 is getting 40% less MPG than the Ford Model T did a century ago

and the sensors that started appearing in all vehicles manufactured after 1995 are programmed to keep your MPG pegged at the low rate that the oil companies are willing to let us have!

if gas is $4.50 and you can increase your gas mileage by double then it is like paying $2.25 per gallon right?

No, because even after the commodities bubble collapses, you still are faced with the scarcity of crude oil.

Theoretically, though, when we switch to an alternative fuel source, and we reduce our demand for gas, prices will fall that low.

Off-shore drilling cannot impact the price of oil for a long time. 20 years ago we started drilling in Alaska and we saw the impact of that only last year.

gas will keep getting higher. in two years it will be at 10 dollars a gallon. then we will be forced to ride on carriages.
