  1. yes they will eventually go down, once bush gets out of office and whoever our new president is will pull us out of this recession that the country is in, and start making peace with the middle east then we can reason with them, because obviously we have demolished them in this war we could just seize all their oil refineries but what would that solve i personally say get rid of OPEC and reason with the middle east on some drilling contracts and get gas back down to 2.00 or less like it is over in iraq where its .45 cents a gallon

  2. They will go down this fall, just like every year.  And then people who haven't caught on to the pattern will start buying big trucks again, and start the lamentation and gnashing of teeth again in spring when the gas prices go up again.  They will peak again next summer, higher than they will this summer.  And the same thing will happen the next year, and the one after that.

The only thing that will prevent the cyclic decline in fuel prices is if someone does something stupid like invading Iran or something.  And even if that happens, the pattern will remain the same, it's just that the whole line will get bumped upwards.

That is also pretty much what will happen if by some miracle oil prices go DOWN...fuel prices will drop, but the annual pattern will remain, and it will eventually come right back up.

  3. By the look of the world's economy these days, I'd say it's gonna keep climbing. Here in New York, it's $4.18 a gallon!

  4. I hate to break it to you buddy, but by next october, they are supposed to be up to almost 7 dollars per gallon. Most people wont even drive since the prices are so high.

    (( try a bike ))

  5. thats like asking how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop.

the world will never know. lol

  6. They'll eventually go down.  But, unless something is done soon it won't be a drastic drop in price.

The government will keep raising the price as long as people keep buying gas.

A couple of tips would be to write your crongressman or congresswoman and let them know that you'd like to see a change, and see this country researching less expensive fuels and getting those fuels mass produced and out to the public.

Another tip is to buy American gas...find out which gas stations near you supply American oil.  It's a few cents cheaper than the stuff from the Middle East.

In some places here in the US prices for gas are almost $5.  The price will just keep rising until there's a larger demand for cheaper fuel and/or more and better public transportation.

  7. i heard 7.00 also

  8. Gas will never go down it will always rise. Im sure in a few weeks it will be $4.50 and $5 in no time.

  9. Gas prices will not go down.  First, Americans still have the cheapest gas in the world.  Most European countries pay nearly 25-30% more than the USA.

Second, inflation will never allow the price to fall.  On average the US dollar inflates 3-4% each year.

Third, demand for oil is not increasing and the current trends are to not increase use of petroleum products.

  10. they proly wont, and it'll go up by a lot i know that. : (

  11. It depends. Right now, gas prices could be $1.25 to $1.50 cheaper.  This is because speculators are the cause of high oil prices.  Speculators are investors who buy large quantities of oil. When they do this, oil price skyrocket because demand goes up and supply goes down. There is no real threat to oil prices- no hurricanes, less middle east violence, normal demand from China and India.  If the speculators did not do this, gasoline would be between $2.50 and $3.00 instead of $3.70 to $4.25.

  12. the only way gas prices will go down is if the war ends THANKS BUSH

  13. what goes up....sometimes don't come back down. That sucks too!

  14. The sky is the limit.

  15. In fact, gas prices WILL go down! Iraq has all the oil, right? they won't drill it because they think if they sell it people will steal it and give it to America. if we stop fighting with them and we buy some from them, gas prices are estimated to go down to around 2.23 a gallon! makes sense, right?

  16. I sure hope so!!

But by the beginning of 2009, gas prices will range between $4.85pg* to $5.00pg

    pg= per gallon

  17. i don't care if gas goes to $10 dollars a gallon. in a way, i hope it does.

  18. Gas prices rarely ever go down, really.  They will probably level off at some point (no one really knows where) but that is about it.

  19. They'll never go down and the sky's the limit as to how high the price will go. But I don't see them ever dropping very much unless people stop driving which will not happen.

  20. I've heard it could reach 6 dollars before summer ends! OMG! I doubt they will go down again.

  21. I predict that they will peak at about six dollars a gallon.  They will go down again eventually, but probably not for another year or so.

  22. I don't think they are going to go down for awhile. I was watching the nightly news tonight and there was an economist discussing the prices. He said that the national average (USA) should be $4/gallon by next week. He then went on to say that it won't be long until we see it at $4.50 and he said he would not be surprised if it went to $7 in a couple of years-WHAT?????????

  23. doesnt look like its going down anytime soon if anything it will keep going up how much no clue... this sucks

  24. No chances of price going down be ready to pay $5. before

    year ends

  25. Gas prices will never go down.  They will only rise and rise and rise until we run out of oil.  We have already reached the peak amount of oil that we can produce and the supply is only going to continue to dwindle.  This is why there is a push for alternative fuel sources and hybrid cars.  Find a place to live that is close to where you work and dust off your bike.

  26. i heard gas will be 5 dollars by september.

  27. They won't go down and they'll probably reach 5 dolars by the end of the year

  28. they won't go down , they might stabilize for a bit because of government innitiative but it will keep going up forever
