With the constant devaluing of the dollar NO . A major change in the monetary system is the only help . As well as returning to self dependence on oil .

Yes.

Scenario 1- We begin to balance the budget, which makes the value of the dollar appreciate, and oil (especially imported oil) is cheaper again.

Scenario 2- as the price of oil rises, incentives for suppliers are to make more, and to demanders to buy less, given market forces and time, people will adjust and demand for oil will fall. (it has fallen over 1% in 2007 in the US) Once we are all driving hybrids, it will fall fast, especially if we share this technology with China and India.

It may be 3-7 years, or maybe 10, but just watch, oil companies will be a niche business when we are old fogies, and gas stations won't exist at all.

Yes it will...eventually. Maybe in about 2 years? I know the gas prices will reach 7 dollars by the end of next summer!! sorry to be the bear of bad news =(

Yes, IF--we harvest the oil in our own yard, and stop our reliance on OPEC.

Our government has very little to do with the prices we are seeing today. The people's insatiable thirst for gasoline, in China, India, and the USA, is driving the price up.

Yes, just as they fell just before the last presidential election, they will begin falling around September and will hit bottom just before the election and begin a slow climb just after the election.

Have everyone in America stop using gasoline for 1-2 weeks, I guarentee the prices will fall.
