  1. Nope, they're going to numb the area with Novocaine first, so you don't feel the pin pricks when they give you a local anesthetic.  It SOUNDS really impressive when they're drilling away in there...like they're installing a floating bookshelf or something...but it's nothing to worry about.  I've had three cavities filled in my whole life and as long as you're a paying customer (not a medicaid patient...that's another story) you're not going to feel much of anything above and beyond a little cold and hot sensitivity for a couple of days after...if that.

Now, if you're a medicaid recipient...there aren't many dental professionals around who accept it in the first place because it's seriously not profitable for them...sad but true.  When they do get cases on public assistance they tend to rush through them so there's a chance that there's going to be some soreness during and after the procedure.  It's gotta suck being that poor.  Thank God for jobs with great benefits!

  2. It only hurts a little bit when he numbs your mouth.   It only takes a second and then it will be numb and you won't feel a thing.

  3. no, its just that you cant eat and the numbing feels really weird

  4. it matters if they numb ur teeth then no not at all but when i got a cavity for some reason they didn't numb my mouth! that's hurts very very badly

  5. only a small pinch when they give a shot
