  1. nope, not now that it's become habit.

    training will help though.

  2. The best product I have seen that will help you with this problem is called Happy Jack Dog Diapers. They work like a charm, and are very well made. Take a look at the testimonials on the website:

    http://www.BestDogDiapers.com

    They are good for:

    TERRITORIAL MARKING

    INCONTINENCE

    MEDICAL ISSUES

    EXCITABLE URINATION

    HOUSEBREAKING

  3. Not really, most males will mark an area if they smell that other dogs have been there also outside, however, it should stop him from wanting to mark inside the house if that's your problem, so yes it should help a lot.  If outside he's going to mark if he smells another dogs scent, it's their way of saying "Fido Was Here"

  4. you should have fixed before he started marking.  this is a learned behavior and now you're going to have to train him to stop.

  5. Don't listen to these people that say he will stop. I know for a fact he will not. I have a great Pyrenees, I got him neutered and he still hikes on everything! and his little thingy still makes appearances. I thought for sure that would quit. o well. boys will be boys!

  6. He wont stop lifting his leg. But it will help with him peeing everywhere. He's still a puppy and small breeds tend to have this problem of being house broken. So more training is needed. I had the same problem with my yorkie he just love to mark everything when we go on walks it seems 90% of the time he's lifting his leg. Good luck!

  7. No.  Males dogs naturally mark things.  He may mark things less because the drive is gone, but he'll still lift his leg.  If he's marking things inside and not where you want him (outside), then that's a training issue, not an issue of him being fixed.

It is beneficial to fix him anyway, though.  Too many dogs get loose and are breeding, causing more homeless pets.  Spaying/neutering is always advised.

  8. It will help, once the hormones settle, but only if you also spend the time and effort needed to housebreak him also,

And clean up with an enzyme cleaner.

  9. hmm no thats their instinct, they will probably still do that. But if hes peeing on stuff hes not supposta maybe spray it with something strong so he wont go there ne more?

  10. a toy aussie??? sounds adorable! i think so my dog was fixed and calmed down a lot. He used to pee n us all the time when we got home and when he was excited. He rarely does it anymore so hopefully. So I think that getting him fixed really helped. Good luck!

  11. It looks like everyone has their own opinions.

My dog did the same thing, we got him fixed when he was 8 months old and yes he did stop marking his territory in the house, but not outside he'll never quit doing that!
